I WISH TOMORROW
Noorderlicht Parade 2023, Spoor Noord Antwerp
I WISH TOMORROW is a platform for expression through hope. People are invited to anonymously share their wishes for the future —anytime, in any language. The project aims to connect the communities and participants in a question of the collective future. Every night, shared wishes are projected into the stars, lighting up the sky as symbols of possibility and hope.
After the event, many people continued to engage with the project. To this day, people share their hopes for a better tomorrow through the I WISH TOMORROW platform. I imagine the project to travel globally, uniting voices into one constellation of hope.
The project was originally created in response to the "Earlier, Later" theme of the 2023 Noorderlicht Parade, in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and the Antwerp Noord community. The Noorderlicht event annually brings dance, visual art, contemporary music, performances and celebration to the Antwerpen Noord neighbourhood.
